Poke is an AI assistant that lives in Apple Messages, Telegram, WhatsApp, and RCS. It can attach custom MCP servers by URL, and Bland’s hosted MCP server is exactly that, so Poke can place calls, send texts, and read the results with no code on your side. Prerequisites

  • A Poke account
  • Optional: a payment card for the Agent Phone Plan ($14.99 first month, then $29.99/month, includes a US phone number). Without it, Poke connects on $2 of free credits, calls from a shared Bland number, and can’t text.

Option 1: You have a Bland API key

  1. Open poke.com/integrations/new.
  2. Enter a Name (for example, Bland) and set MCP Server URL to:
  3. Paste your Bland API key from the dashboard into API Key. Poke sends it as an Authorization: Bearer header, which is what the Bland server expects.
  4. Click Create Integration. Poke connects and lists the Bland tools it discovered.
Then message Poke:
To give Poke its own number, so it can receive calls and send texts, subscribe to the Agent Phone Plan at Billing & Plans. The plan provisions a US number within a few seconds. Ask “what’s my Bland phone number?” and Poke reads it from your account and uses it from then on.

Option 2: Let Poke set itself up

This optional workflow requires Poke to make HTTP requests, poll for approval, and retain the returned API key. If those capabilities are unavailable, create your Bland account in the dashboard and use Option 1.
If Poke has access to an agent wallet that can approve payments, it can skip the browser step entirely: see Headless agent onboarding. Poke pays for its own number, and your only manual step is relaying a text-message code. Without a wallet, use the link-based flow below.
Otherwise, message Poke:
If Poke starts the device flow, it sends you a link and a short code. Open the link, sign up or sign in, then either start the Agent Phone Plan or continue with free credits, and approve the request. After Poke retrieves the API key, and its phone number if you chose the plan, confirm that the Bland integration is connected before asking it to call or text. The key is scoped to a new organization that belongs to you. Revoke it any time from Settings > API Keys. If Poke cannot add the integration on its own, ask it for the key and add the integration yourself as in Option 1.

What Poke can do

On the Agent Phone Plan, calls and texts are limited to US and Canadian numbers, one call at a time, up to 60 minutes per outbound call, and up to 100 texts a day. See Limits.
