# Setup guide for Bland

> Install the Bland app from the HubSpot App Marketplace, connect your HubSpot account, and configure how your AI agents read and update your CRM.

Bland integrates your AI phone and messaging agents with HubSpot contacts, companies, deals, tickets, tasks, and meetings, which lets users:

* Let an agent look up and update CRM records during a live call or chat (for example, create a contact or deal, or search a company by property).
* Start calls, messages, or workflows automatically when a record is created or updated in HubSpot.
* Write each conversation back to the matching HubSpot contact: identity, call summary, memory entities, deals, and interaction history.

Data flows both ways. Bland reads the objects above from HubSpot and writes records and activity back. The integration never deletes anything in HubSpot.

## Install the app

You need a HubSpot user who can install apps (a Super admin, or a user with **App Marketplace access**) and a Bland account. If you do not have a Bland account yet, the install flow lets you create one.

1. In the HubSpot App Marketplace, open the **Bland** listing and click **Install app**.
2. You are taken to Bland. Sign in, or create an account, with your phone number, Google, or SSO.
3. Bland shows which workspace the connection will be added to. Click **Continue to HubSpot**.
4. Select your HubSpot account and click **Choose Account**.
5. Review the requested scopes on this screen. Bland requests access to read and write contacts, companies, deals, tickets, tasks, meetings, and notes, to read products, and to read your CRM property definitions so custom properties can be mapped. It does not request access to marketing email, billing, or account settings.
6. Click **Connect app**.
7. HubSpot returns you to Bland for one last step. Click **Finish connecting**. A small window confirms the authorization with HubSpot and closes on its own.
8. You are redirected back to HubSpot. The connection is live and appears in Bland under **Tools** → **Connections**.

<Note>
  If you are not signed in to HubSpot when you click **Install app**, HubSpot asks you to sign in first and may email you a confirmation code. That step is HubSpot's own login verification, not part of the Bland app.
</Note>

You can also start the connection from inside Bland: open **Tools** → **Connections** (the **Integrations** tab in the legacy dashboard), click **Add connection**, choose **HubSpot**, name the connection, and click **Connect**. HubSpot's authorization window opens; approve it. Both routes produce the same connection.

## Configure the app

A connection does nothing on its own until you point a Bland feature at it. Configure whichever of the three you need.

**Give an agent a HubSpot tool**

1. In Bland, open the agent and go to **Tools**.
2. Click **Add tool**, choose **HubSpot**, and pick an action, for example *Create contact*, *Create deal*, or *Search contacts by property*.
3. Select the HubSpot connection to use.
4. Map each input the action needs to a value the agent collects in the conversation (the available fields include your custom properties).
5. Save. See [Integration Tools](/tutorials/tools/integration-tools) for the shared concepts: parameter modes, response variables, and routing on the result.

**Start calls or messages from HubSpot changes**

1. Open **Dispatch** → **Triggers** and click **New trigger**.
2. Choose a HubSpot event: created or updated for companies, contacts, deals, meetings, tasks, or tickets.
3. Select the HubSpot connection.
4. Add conditions on the record's properties (for example, *Deal stage equals Qualified*).
5. Choose the agent that should act and what it should do, then save. See [Triggers](/agents/triggers).

**Write conversations back to HubSpot**

1. Open **Contacts** and choose **CRM sync**.
2. Select **HubSpot** and the connection.
3. Switch on the categories to sync: contact identity, summaries, memory entities, deals, and interaction history. Each is independent.
4. Save. See [Conversations](/agents/conversations).

You can connect more than one HubSpot account to a workspace and choose, per tool or trigger, which one to use.

## Use the app

* **Manual, during a conversation.** When an agent reaches a step with a HubSpot tool, it reads from or writes to HubSpot in real time, and the result is available to the rest of the conversation. Every tool call is recorded in the conversation's log, so you can see exactly what was sent and returned.
* **Automated, from HubSpot events.** Bland checks HubSpot for new and updated records every few minutes. When a record matches a trigger, the trigger runs: it places the call, sends the message, or runs the workflow you configured. No manual action is required.
* **Automated, after each conversation.** With CRM sync on, Bland writes the categories you enabled to the matching HubSpot contact when the conversation ends, creating a contact if none matches.

## Disconnect the app

<Note>
  If you disconnect your HubSpot account from Bland, agents' HubSpot tools fail at that step, triggers on HubSpot events stop firing, and CRM sync stops. Existing data stays where it is: records and activity already written to HubSpot remain on your HubSpot records, and conversation records in Bland are kept. Nothing is deleted on either side.
</Note>

1. In Bland, open **Tools** → **Connections**.
2. Locate the HubSpot connection.
3. Click **Disconnect** and confirm.

To reconnect, repeat either install route above. Agents, triggers, and CRM sync pick the connection back up once you select it again.

## Uninstall the app

To uninstall Bland from your HubSpot account, go to **Settings** → **Integrations** → **Connected apps**, locate **Bland**, and choose **Uninstall**, as described in [this HubSpot Knowledge Base article](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/connect-apps-to-hubspot).

Uninstalling revokes Bland's access to your HubSpot account. Within a few minutes Bland marks the connection as disconnected under **Tools** → **Connections**, with the same effects on tools, triggers, and sync described in the previous section. Your HubSpot data is not changed by uninstalling.
